Websockets support with CloudFlare

Good news for anyone fronting their Meteor (and other [inferior] stacks) deployments with CloudFlare. From today they support Websockets!! Previously we had to fall back to long poll mechanisms, which have much higher latencies and overhead. Check out the performance vs REST below.

So head over to https://www.cloudflare.com/websockets/ and sign up for a free account today!

  1. We tried cloudflare, but now we are using cdnsun, it's works very good with joomla, especially if you are focused on UK visitors. I can't say about other countries.

  2. Thanks Benjamin, good to know. Our money is still with CloudFlare though, they are unstoppable now with Load Balancing and so many other useful features (SSL termination). You can build a $1000000 business on the free plan :)
